Hello:
I want to perform a clear install of my win 7 64bits but i want to create my entire profile on HHD (drive D) instead of C (SSD drive) i was checking the program "User Profile Manager 2.6" and i´m not sure if this program could help me with my task. i want to use my hdd(drive D) as a default profile for documents, programs , don't want to store anything on drive c. Should be something like this: 1. install windows 2. install ""User Profile Manager 2.6 3. use the option copy to (d:\users\) and mark as a default profile 4. reboot the computer 5 log in and install my programs and by default all of them will be installed on drive d? thanks in advance. |

Hi,
You can't do this with User Profile Manager. The reason is that it uses the Default profiles directory - usually C:\Users; you cannot move the profile to an arbitary location. Another option would be to use Transwiz. Transwiz uses the Default profiles directory as well, so you would have to change it to the D drive first. Once you had done that, you could back up the existing profile, and restore it to the D: drive Edited by Support - 10 Sep 2014 at 8:17am |
