We recently migrated a M$ Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8.1 using Profile Wizard 3.8. Everything worked fine for a few days but now today when he goes to log in, he gets an error that C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. In fact, that file does not exist.
It allows him to log in, but there are no settings available. I also try to use the Profile Manager and it doesn't show any profiles available. I created a new local admin user that I can log in as, but it doesn't create any profile info for him under C:\Users. Anything you can suggest I look at? I have not seen this before, but of course the last major thing we did to his device was to convert it using Profile Wizard.... Thank you Edited by MajorErickson - 22 Sep 2015 at 1:32pm |

We've not seen this before either. It sounds very strange.
What happens if you open a command prompt? Normally it will open at C:\Users\Username, what does it say? Similarly Echo %USERPROFILE% ? Windows must be using some file storage somewhere - although it may be a temporary profile. |
