hi everyone,
i was wondering if anyone had had problems with sharepoint 2007 after migrating users to a domain using the migration tool. basically we migrated two users with the tool (win xp machines, domain controllers are running 2003 standard) and unlike the ones we migrated manually ourselves, these 2 users cannot access our sharepoint server.
has anyone experienced this? and has had any luck solving that problem?
let me know thanks! Smile

Hi,

It's difficult to comment without knowing a bit more about the problem. Are the two users getting an error message when they try to access the Sharepoint server?

One thing to bear in mind, though. Windows stores passwords in the registry encrypted with the users credentials. Because the credentials have changed, there may be a password issue here.

hi,
thanks for your answer. well the users merely got a time out message and it never connected. but! since we also tried to make the sharepoint server a domain controller and that ruined the whole SQL 2005 thing, we had to reinstall the server altogether (it was in its beta phase anyhow, so no biggie, just never try to make a sharepoint server a DC! :D) and since then, both users can now connect... i am gonna migrate another person tonight using the tool and see what happens.
i will keep you updated on what happens!
thanks again,
isaak
