Hey we are using defprof for creating a default profile for a lab environment with lots of different users (students and teachers). Using defprof 1.11 causes Windows 10 Education to run the "updating store apps" procedure for each and every login, since we are remove the profiles after logout again. That's really time consuming and annoying, because we don't need these apps at all. My questions is, if it is possible to force defprof not to care about those appx apps? The /NoAppx switch does nothing regarding "updating store apps". When trying an older defprof 1.5 no store apps are updated during first login and Win 10 seems to run fine. However, start menu does not work well. Some items are missing. So how is defprof working with /NoAppx switch? Thanks in advance! |

If you continue with Windows 10 Education, you'll likely want to look at various Powershell commands to remove/uninstall Appx applications. For a lab environment though, I'd suggest looking at Windows 10 LTSC (which strips out the AppX apps) From your MS Licensing portal, you should be able to tell whether or not you have that available to you.
Trying to do lab machines or staff machines too using more traditional OS (with AppX) is really a pain especially when imaging/deploying (even with Powershell). Very often, the AppX applications are trying to update in the background and can cause issues when sysprep/'generalization' takes place. |

I am having the same issue with the Updating Store App 1 of X on EVERY SINGLE LOGIN.
Did you ever find a resolution? |
