Hi,

Old DC and domain have same name and IP as new one. Only one at the time can be running on same network. So how would I use the User profile wizard?

Move it first to local and then kill the old domain hook up the new one and then run the tool again?

Please describe clearly as I never used the tool before!

Thanks!

User Profile Wizard needs no access to the old domain, but the new domain must be be on the network.

Do not unjoin the machines from the old domain before migrating the profiles; let User Profile Wizard join the machines to the new domain for you. There is no need to migrate the user profiles to local accounts first.

If you are migrating to a new domain with the same name as the old domain, you just need to make sure that there is a tick (not a block) in the “Join Domain” checkbox on the “User Account Information” page when you run Profwiz.exe. (You can do this by setting the “Force Join” option when you configure your Profwiz.config file if you have the Professional or Corporate Edition.)
