Hi there,
I've been using User Profile Wizard 2.5 for a while for domain migration, and I must say that it works great! I've experienced zero problems thus far. I'm now at the point where I think I need to start learning how to use some of the more advanced features.
A few questions regarding profwiz.exe and RUNAS:
1) From what I understand RUNAS is to be used in conjunction with LOCALADMIN, which implies that RUNAS as cannot be used with a domain user? Is this truly the case? Could I, for example, specify domain\username as the parameter for LOCALADMIN?
2) The documentation implies that RUNAS does not accept script arguments (e.g. myscript.bat arg1 arg2). Does RUNAS accept script arguments or not? Could I, for example, do this: /RUNAS "myscript.bat arg1 arg2" ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, 1. The LOCALADMIN just needs to have Administrator permissions on the local machine; so you can certainly use domain\username as long as that account has Administrator permissions. 2. RUNAS does not accept script arguments. This is something we are looking at for the next release. User Profile Wizard 2.5 is out of date; it doesn't support Windows 7, for example. You may want to consider upgrading to version 3.0. |
