slow user login

   We have a couple computers running the user profile manager that have begun causing very slow logins. Users will enter their username and password and it will get stuck at the "Applying personal settings..." screen for about 5 mins. before the desktop will appear. Is there something that would cause this? Or do we need to un-install and reinstall the product?

	Hi, Reinstalling is unlikely to make any difference. If the problem has only just occurred, and your users used to be able to logon without the delay, you should try and find out if anything has changed in your environment. For example, have any new Group Policies been applied? Have you changed your network configuration in anyway? Check the event log on the machine to see if any errors are being recorded during logon.

	We have 1 "standard profile" we assign our domain users to. We have found that if we log in once as a domain user, all subsequent logins from users in that domain are quick, it appears to be only the first login from a user in a group that is slow. We have built this into our image (aka, logged into the computer as a domain user prior to capturing the image) so when it is put down onto the machines the logins are quick. We definitely can confirm that this issue does occur.
