I am new to using the User Profile Wizard but I'm trying to use it to migrate from one domain to another. Also, right now I just have a test license (or whatever) that a sales rep has sent me....
When I run PROFWIZ from the command line, I see the message stating that "The machine is not joined to the XXX domain". We'll use XXX for the current domain, and YYY for the new. The wizard continues and copies the profiles over so that when I login to YYY (because there is a trust) my XXX profile is seen and everything looks great. However, the workstation is still a member of XXX domain. Why would I be getting the "not joined to the XXX domain" when it is joined to the XXX domain? Thanks. |

User Profile Wizard uses a standard Windows API call to get the NetBIOS name of the domain. If this does not match the <OldDomain> value in Profwiz.config you will see the "not joined" message. However, this should not affect joining the machine to the new domain. What was recorded in the log about joining the domain? |
