I just started testing DefProf (hadn't heard about it til a few weeks ago) and I was wondering how you generalize the registry keys and set them to be repopulated.

I have a large amount of computers already deployed with some user specific keys pointing to the 'setup' profile location. I just wanted to know if there was a way to refresh/fix those keys without redeploying new images.

Also...Just which registry keys does this thing fix?

DefProf uses the settings from a profile you specify to update the default profile for users logging onto the machine. The default profile acts as a template: when a user logs onto the machine for the first time, Windows will make a copy of the default profile and assign that copy to the user.

Once the user has logged on and their profile has been created, any changes to the default profile will not affect them. For this reason you cannot fix any errors in any existing profiles.

DefProf updates the user-specific part of the registry; that is, the part under HKEY_CURRENT_USER when the user is logged on.
