Hi,

We have never been able to reproduce the problem ourselves, and despite some promises no one has been able to supply us with a problem transfer file.

We are working on a updated version of the software. If anyone is willing to give us a problem transfer file they should contact support@ForensiT.com

The problem with supplying a bad transfer file is that real-life profiles contain sensitive data, and I do not know yet how to artificially create a sample profile which would cause a problem. It has something to do with weird file names in the IE cache (Temporary Internet Files) and %userprofile%\Recent. Maybe you could just skip those folders when creating a transfer file, nobody needs this junk anyway.

However, thanks a lot for your effort. Your software promises to be much better than Microsoft's own USMT 3.0. If I manage to create a problem profile, I will send it to you.

I have found out that a profile archive fails to unpack if the source profile contained filenames with the 0xAB character (it's the LEFT-POINTING DOUBLE ANGLE QUOTATION MARK, U+00AB). This is a very important character in Russian, we use double angle quotation marks a lot. Could you please try to reproduce?

Hi Victor,

We have tried backing up and restoring files  with the U+00AB character « in the filename and we have not had a problem.

Would it be possible for you to send us a file that gives you a problem?

Many Thanks
