Forensit Pro is working well to create new Domain accounts and migrate profiles, except for users of DropBox.   When users try to launch their Dropbox after migration, they get a message that it cannot access the registry keys.   Reinstalling Dropbox fixes the problem, but it does annoy the users.   Is this a known problem or is there a fix for it?

Thanks!

Hi,

Dropbox creates a registry key, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dropbox\ks, which has non-standard security permissions. Only the logged on user account has permissions to this registry key: Administrators and even the SYSTEM account have no access. As a result, earlier versions of User Profile Wizard could not get access to the registry key to change the permissions for the new domain account. This problem has been fixed in the latest release (3.6.1172.)

However, the Dropbox data itself appears to be encrypted. As a result, it cannot be migrated and you have to setup your Dropbox again by re-entering your Email and Password and then choosing "Use Previous Settings".

Thanks.

Unfortunately that tool does not work within a Windows 8 environment. Is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dropbox\ks related to Dropboxs encryption process?
