Hi, User Profile Wizard configures the user's existing profile “in place” so that it can be used by their new domain account. It is not possible to exclude specific items. The Corporate Edition of User Profile Wizard can update Outlook settings. The software automatically queries the user’s new domain user account object in Active Directory to get the new domain Exchange Server name and mailbox. You do not specify the settings yourself in the Profwiz.config file. Please see page 48 of the User Guide. Thanks.

Thank you. I have enabled updating of Outlook and that is working.
I have written a script that deleted all network drives and network printers at logon I have an issue where is is not working for some accounts I have this entry in the migration log Migrating user account "USERNAME" Finding Domain Controller for domain FQDN... Done. Using Domain Controller: \\DC.FQDN Binding to Active Directory... Done. Getting FQDN for user "DOMAIN"... Done. Getting Domain SID... Done. SID is S-1-5-21-111222333-4445556666-777888999-0000 Checking for roaming profile...Done. No roaming profile path set. Setting Registry ACLs... Done. Set Registry ACLs in 4.596 seconds. Setting Profile ACL... Done. Set Profile ACL in 733.860 seconds. Creating Profile registry keys... Done. Configuring Exchange settings... Fails. The system cannot find the file specified. Adding domain account to local groups... Done. the user has an account on the new domain the user has a mailbox in the new domain the user can access his new mailbox on the new domain Outlook 2010 can auto detect the account correctly (assuming I create a new profile from scratch) So everything in that side seems OK so can I enable more verbose logging? Any idea why this fails? Edited by SSLicensing - 14 Oct 2012 at 5:39pm |

User Profile Wizard looks on the user account object in Active Directory for the msExchHomeServerName and mail attributes. If these attributes are not set or cannot be read, you will get a "The system cannot find the file specified" error.

Hello, I have the same problém. When I migrate user profile with Outlook configured to new domain and try to run Outlook after migration Outlook says, that OST file is connected to another account.
When I look into attributes of user account object I can see that attribute msExchHomeServerName is set correctly (I do not know which other attributes should be set). Migration is running under new domain administrator so it can read attributes from new domain. I need migrate two hundred computers and I do not want to repair configuration of Outlook manually on every computer. Have you any idea what I can to try? Thank you very much. |

When you say you get the same problem, do you get the "Configuring Exchange settings... Fails." message in the log?

Yes. During migration of every computer this message appeared in log.
When I deleted mail profile, created new one and ran Outlook, new Exchange server was found imediately. If you have any idea what to try please write it to me. Thank you. |

Generally, the "Configuring Exchange settings... Fails." message is caused because either the msExchHomeServerName or mail attribute cannot be read from the user account object in AD.
