Hi,
we have trouble with personal certificate in Windows 7. We migrated user profile to another profile on the same computer. After migration we saw personal certificate in storage in Internet Explorer. But if we open outlook 2007 and want to choose certificate to signature emails there is nothing to choose (no certificate to choose). We deleted certificate and import it back but no effect. Even completely new imported certificate outlook do not see. We have same problem on 7 migrated computers. Only one computer with Windows XP have no problem. Can anyone help? Thanks a lot. |

Windows encrypts certificate information with an algorithm that uses the user’s own credentials (their username and password.) When the profile is migrated and the user logs on with different credentials, the encrypted data cannot be decrypted (because the username and password have changed.) Currently, User Profile Wizard cannot migrate encrypted data. You need to export any certificates and then import them again after the migration. |

We exported and than imported back but no change. We tried import completely different certificate (never installed on the computer) and in outlook we can not still choose him (blank window with selection). We suspect that the problem is with access to the certificate store.? Problem with rights?

Hi. We found that it is necessary to uninstall Forensit software. Then we took the certificate and re-imported. After that our troubles with certificates ceased. Important was uninstalling Forensit software.

Which product are you referring to? Our migration software (User Profile Wizard) is a standalone executable - it is not installed.
