Good day. Using DefProf to clone the administrator to default user on a Windows 7 image. I'm noticing an issue when a user is then spun off the default, where their default document location is the c:\users\default\documents folder instead of their own. Not sure if it's a bug or if there is some workaround I'm missing. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

It sounds like the default folder redirection settings have been changed. Check the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders registry key; the "Personal" value should be %USERPROFILE%\Documents
If that is the case, check the %USERPROFILE% environment variable value. |

Thanks for the response. After the machine is cloned, it does get placed in an OU which adds folder redirection for each new user as they login. Are you thinking I need to make a correction before this, to the administrator profile and folder settings, or afterward? I'm not sure how default would get redirected, as no one actually logs in with that account.

Just checked that value as administrator, before taking the next clone and that is the location shown in the registry.

Is that the same when another user logs on? If so, what happens if you type
echo %USERPROFILE% at a command prompt when logged in as the user (not the admin)? |
