I can succesfully use the profile wizard to create an exe and profile that allows me to join the domain and migrate the local profile to the domain profile.

However, when I attempt to use either of the "remapping functions" the migration fails with an error of "Warning: NBNS lookup failure.  Retrying...Fails.  Error 0x8007052e.  Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."

I have tried using the old domain's administrator account and password, and the local administrator account and password.  No joy.

Can someone assit me with this?  We purchased the minimum number of licenses to test this out, but will be purchasing greater numbers to perform our actual domain to domain migration.

THanks,

Hi,

I can't think of a reason why the script would succeed if you are not mapping user and computer names, but fail if you are.

NBNS is the NetBIOS Naming Service. The error means that Windows cannot locate a DC for the domain based on its NetBios or "Flat" name. This generally indicates a WINS problem. The Wizard then tries an LDAP connection, but that fails with the 0x8007052e error.

If you send your script and Profwiz.config file to support@ForensiT.com we will be happy to take a look.

Thanks.
