Subject: User Profile Manager for Windows 7 Update

A small but important update for User Profile Manager 2.0 on Windows 7 and Windows Vista is now available. The update fixes a number of issues with the Windows 7 and Windows Vista logon screen. Specifically: correctly updating the "Log on to" field when logging in locally or with a local Administrator account; correctly reporting the use of a NULL password, as reported - here ; and correctly rendering the reset password screen when a user account password has expired.

No update is needed for Windows XP.

The updated setup file is called User_Profile_Manager_2.0.2025.1_W7_setup.exe and can be downloaded - here .

We are currently using the User_Profile_Manager_2.0.1026_W7_setup.exe version in our campus computer labs and are still having an issue with Active Directory authentication when a user's password expires. When a user's password has expired, Windows 7 informs the user but no box pops up to enter a new password. The only two boxes that appear are the user name and password boxes.
