I am planning and Azure AD to Azure AD migration (tenant to tenant) migration. Part of the migration is also moving the custom domain over. I am concerned on how the user mapping file would look as when I run ProfWiz Pro on the machine it will see user@domain.com based on the profile data. Can I have the target also be user@domain.com or do I need to use an alias for the targets such as user@domain.onmicrosoft.com?

Hi,
You should specify the target UPN in the csv based on whatever is in the xml file that you are using. The Wizard will first lookup the target UPN from the csv file, and then lookup that target UPN in the Azure Object ID XML file in order to retrieve the Object ID of the Azure user account. It doesn't matter if you later move the domain to the new tenant, and update the user's UPN, because the Object ID of the account will not change. Thanks, Support. |

Awesome!!
I just did a quick test and changed a valid UPN over to a bogus UPN in the ForeniTAzureID.xml and user mapping files and did a test migration and it still shows the correct target UPN when logging in after a migration! That helps tremendously. Thank you for your quick response!
