We've just moved a domain from old tenant to new tenant. All user data has been migrated and usernames all remain the same. However, the laptops seem to still be connecting to the "old tenant using the .onmicrosoft domain. If we use profwiz, will it "move" the laptop into the new tenant's AzureAD ?

Hi,

At a high level, User Profile Wizard can complete a AzureAD to AzureAD migration by;

-Migrating the profile to the new AzureAD account
-Unjoining the computer from AzureAD
-Joining the computer to the new AzureAD tenant by installing a Provisioning Package

You can find videos demonstrating the process here

Thanks for the link. this shows the process with corp edition. as we only have 4-5 devices and few users, can we accomplish the same with the free edition, just doing users one by one as most machines have only 1-2 AzureAD user profiles

Yes, you can migrate profiles to AzureAD accounts using the Free Edition.

so in our case..
user is user@domain.com which was hosted at oldtenant.onmicrosoft.com and is now hosted as newtenant.onmicrosoft.com, their username has not changed at all and they log on as user@domain.com

so using FreeEdition we would..
 - create provisioning package to join with bulkenroll@domain.com
 - logon to computer with local admin
 - move AzureAD profile for user@oldtenant.onmicrosoft.com to user@domain.com ??
 - repeat for any other profiles that need to be moved
 - unjoin from AzureAD
 - add provisioning package package
 - log off local admin
 - log on with user@domain.com

use should connect to newtenant.onmicrosoft with their current username and everythingshoudl be "as it was before"

 - from local admin - run provisionpackage to join new tenant

I'm testing Profwiz corp for 3 different scenarios:
Local to Azure AD
Domain to Azure AD
Azure AD to Azure AD
First two working fine. However, I'm having an issue with migration from one Azure AD to another.

Log file:

Hi VT,

If you run whoami in a source account, it sounds like the account will be identified as domain\username rather than azuread\username, please modify your profwiz.config file to suit. At present the Wizard is not identifying any 'azuread' profiles.

Please contact us at support@forensit.com for any assistance - please send us your log file and config file and we will be happy to advise.

Support.

Hi Glider,

You will need to specify the target account AzureUPN which matches the entry in the Azure XML file you have created, which lists all the accounts in the new Azure tenant.

If you have any issues, please let us know.

Many thanks,

Support.
