A user has been using the Credential Manager as a password manager for internet passwords. I logged back into the source profile, but I couldn't see them in the Credential Manager. Are they gone or just hiding somewhere on the machine? I did not select disable or delete profile during migration. And thank you for this tool which has made my life easier.

Hi,
As we say in the User Guide, “User Profile Wizard cannot migrate encrypted data. This includes encrypted files, but also Internet and Outlook passwords which will need to be re-entered after the migration.” (What isn’t migrated? Page 99.) |

Thank you for the fast reply, but I am asking what happens to the encrypted information after a successful migration. Can it be recovered or not?

The data remains on the machine, but it is encrypted and inaccessible. The only way to recover it would be to migrate the profile back to the original user account.
