Hi
I used profile wizard on a machine to join a domain and it worked fine, but now I can not logon as a local administrator even with the pre existing admin account. I am on SBS 2003 domain and the client machine is xp pro sp2. I need to install software and turn off the xp firewall and none of the accounts on the client will allow me to do this. Even if I disconect from the server I still can't get admin privlages.
Thanks for your help

Hi Keith,
User Profile Wizard only acts on the user's profile, it doesn't alter a user's account in anyway. We know of no issues like this, and we would be very surprised if there were any! What happens when you try and logon? Do you get an error message of any sort?
One thing to try might be to create a new domain account, add it to the "Domain Admins" group, and then try logging on with that. That way you could be sure that you were using a new profile - IF this is a profile problem.

Hi I now believe the problem to be a group policy problem on the domain controller. I am only guessing but I think the domain controller (SBS 2003) has not allowed any admin rights for the client machines. As to how I can fix this it's a good question. Group policy management is a bit out of my league |
