We have recently set up an Azure AD. Some of our users were on-prem joined, and others were not on a domain at all (mainly remote workers).
To get everyone on Azure AD, is this going to take two migrations (we purchased Corporate licenses)? First to migrate the on-prem users to Azure AD. Second to migrate non-domain local accounts to Azure AD. All profiles will need to be renamed regardless, since Azure AD has a different naming/sign in convention than our on-prem AD used. The only curve ball is that some are on-prem AD joined, and some are standard Windows 10 Pro machines with no domain membership yet. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

It depends on how you are going to migrate the machines. If you are going to migrate them using the GUI, you can just configure the User Profile Wizard to join the machines to your Azure AD, select the profiles you want to migrate, and the software will work out what to do with unjoining (or not) your on-premises domain.
However, if you want to automate the migration, you will need to create two different configurations: one targeting the local accounts of the workgrouped machines, and the other the domain accounts of the machines joined to the on-premises domain
