I am testing your product using the Free Edition. The Manual said that I need to create a ForensiTAzureID.xml as an extra step for moving the profile to Entra ID (Azure). Also said that the Free Version only works by joining to the Azure AD manually "OR" Using a Provisioning Package. Then specified that the Profesional or Enterprise automate that process with the Provisioning Package.

This guidelines seems confusing. Why we need to create the xml file if there is not use. The text indicates that we can do it manually "OR" created a provisioning package. No information on how to do it.

Then if we need to do it manually, do I need to join the computer using the user credentials and then migrate her profile before her first login or what?

Please advice

Thank You

Hi,

The ForensiTAzureID.xml file is used by the Wizard to obtain the ObjectID of the target user account, so that the Wizard can migrate the profile to the new Entra account. The xml file is required.

To automate joining a computer to Entra, you can create a Provisioning Package using Microsoft Windows Configuration Designer. The Professional and Corporate Editions of the Wizard can automate the Entra join by installing the Provisioning Package for you. The Free Edition of User Profile Wizard will not install a Provisioning Package for you, so if you are using the Free Edition of User Profile Wizard to migrate to Entra, you can either join the computer to Entra yourself in Windows Settings or you can install a Provisioning Package yourself.

You can join the computer to Entra before or after you migrate the profile, but do not log in to the new account before you migrate the profile to it.

Many thanks,

Support.
