When installing the trial of User Profile Manager 2.5 I receive the following error message:
Could not create key:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\PMSvc.exe Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel." I received the message on a Windows 8.0 and 8.1 machine. Both times running as local admin. |

By default Administrators have "Full Control" access to the "Windows Error Reporting" key. If you are having a problem it is likely a third party application has broken the default permissions. The solution is is fix permissions on the key.

Thank you. After changing the permissions on that key I was able to install.
