Hi experts,
We are trying to run the Profwiz.exe file from the command line using the parameters we are running the .exe file using all the parameters but there we are getting the Issue Directory name is invalid. So we run the Profwiz.exe using only the /RENAME parameter in which we have passed only the ou path value but we are getting the issue again. we have run the below command in the powershell .\Profwiz.exe /RENAME OU=UK,OU=UK,OU=Regional,OU=Workstations,DC=New,DC=com this is the command we are using, we are running the command from the folder location where we have kept the config and exe file. in the above parameter, New.com is the target domain where the computer will be migrated. the OU path is correct in the target domain. Still getting the Directory name is invalid What are the possible reasons we might get the error? Can we get the error for any other possible reason? Do we have to pass "" or a new Dc name or anything else Thanks |

Hi,
If the error in the log is; Creating migration process... Fails. The directory name is invalid.
The problem will be that the <LocalAdmin> account in your Profwiz.config file does not have access to the location of Profwiz.exe. Perhaps you are running the migration from a network share? To avoid the problem you can copy your deployment files locally to the machine. If you continue to have a problem, please can you email support with your config file, migration log and more information and we'll be happy to help. Many thanks, Support. |

Hi,
Yes, when you specify alternative – local - credentials, Profwiz.exe restarts itself using those credentials. However, there will be a problem if the <LocalAdmin> account you are using does not have access to the location where the Profwiz.exe file is. If you copy the files locally to the computer to c:\temp\profwiz for example, and run from there, it will rule out a permissions issue. If you continue to have a problem, please can you email support with your config file, migration log and more information and we'll be happy to help. Many thanks, Support. |
