I had challenges with User Profile Manager, sometimes getting a temporary profile when I'd bounce back and forth between local and domain logins, forcing me to assign profiles again.

I've run out of time on my evaluation and have uninstalled UPM.

I tried to proceed the old fashion way (to create a domain name with my local settings) using Windows Easy Transfer, but when I run it, it complains: "You're currently logged on using a temporary profile. Restart your computer and try again." Rebooting does not help.

When logged in as my local username, everything so far except using Windows Easy transfer looks and acts normal. It doesn't look like a temporary profile.

UPM did this. Or perhaps User Profile Wizard did it before I discovered that I really wanted UPM. (I did a reverse migration with UPW to correct that mistake.)

Can you help me undo this problem and help me remove all effects of UPM and UPW?

Later, on another machine or if I can reset the period on this one, I'd like to evaluate further and give you a chance to address the issue of it not always finding the shared profile.

Use User Profile Wizard to assign the original profile to the user account you want. Remember to reboot before logging in again with that account.
