Sounds like a great product. I could do all the steps necessary for this manually, but it sure would be nice to have it automated.... So, cool.
Wait... not cool. Doesn't budge. No error code listings. And precious little available in the forums.
So - here's my OS:
Windows 7 Pro on a domain.
And here's my error:
I can browse to the location both through the explorer and in command line. I'm using the workstation admin domain account. (Do I need to be the pure local admin for the workstation? don't seem right). I'm running CMD.exe "as an administrator". UAC is off. Windows Defender is off (for now). Local firewall is off.
What am I missing. What, specifically is an Error 3?
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. Happy Holidays!

Error 3 is a Windows error meaning "The system cannot find the path specified"
The Administrator account you are using probably does not have access to something in the documents folder- in which case the default security settings have been changed. Has the documents folder been redirected? |

Nothing is re-directed other than the standard Windows 7 build settings. If this tool can't handle that, then I can't use it.
Thanks anyway. |

I ran into this same exact problem. I was trying to copy the settings from the local machine Administrator account to the default user profile. First I created a temporary account and put it in the Administrators group. Then trying to use DefProf I ran into the this error 3 problem on the Documents folder.
To solve it instead of running DefProf directly I use: RunAs /noprofile /user:Administrator "Defprof.exe Administrator" Running it as the actual Administrator seems to resolve the copy error while the /noprofile flag prevents the profile from getting loaded and causing problems. |
