Hello - I am using move computer to go from a Windows 7 machine to Windows 8.1 Pro. I have been using your products for quite some time and I absolutely love them.

On this particular move - I keep getting "An incorrect password set for the file being decrypted" error for every little file as I am trying to unpack it on the new machine. Can you please tell me what is causing this and how to fix it?

I know I am using the correct password that I protected the .trans file with as it won't even attempt to open it if I use another password. This is something to do with the file itself.

Any info greatly appreciated! I have 5 laptops to deploy on Windows 8.1 Pro. Please help! :)

Thank you,

Allen Nichols

Hi Allen,

We don't think this is a Windows 8.1 problem. Transwiz normally runs fine on Windows 8.1. Unfortunately it sounds like the transfer file has become corrupted. You could try opeining it in 7-Zip to see if any of the files are accessible.

Thank you. I did and the files were fine. On the next one I did I just skipped the password protection option and it worked without any glitches. I really don't need to password protect the files anyway as I am saving them on a secure server.
