I mistakenly removed myself from a domain and put myself in a workgroup. Now, my user profile reads "Account Unknown". I am no longer able to rejoin the domain. I do have admin account and rights.

Would I be able to migrate the old user profile using this Profile Wizard?

Hi Juan,

Yes you can migrate the old profile using http://www.forensit.com/Profwiz/ - User Profile Wizard . But why can't you rejoin the domain?

The company I was working for folded, there is no more domain (or IT dept for that matter) to be found. So, my mistake in thnking I was 'cleaning up' my thinkpad. Dumb, dumb mistake, but it seems irreversable, now that the profile I was using says "account unknown".

Suggestions?

well, it worked like a charm. even though the user account was unknown, the wizard saw it and migrated the settings to another account not on the domain. so I can log on and see and use all my old settings.
