Hello,

We are using User Profile Wizard 3.7 (Corporate Edition) to migrate user profiles between 2 domains.

We managed to migrate all profiles on a computer from oldDomain to newDomain, on a windows 7 machine. The tool is great for that, and will spare us many tedious and time consuming tasks.

The profiles seem to have migrated correctly, the user settings and desktop were migrated, but all the printers are missing (no printers appear in printers management, nor when trying to print from any application).

These printers have been connected manually on each profile (not using a GPO), to a Windows print server (using something like \\PRINT-SERVER\Printer).

If I understand correctly how Windows printers work, they should be configured in the profile, and should be kept when migrating profiles. But it doesn't seem to work for us. Is it supposed to work like that when using User Profile Wizard?
If not, how can we keep the printers when migrating a profile between domains?

We have many printers, machines and profiles, and would rather not have to reconnect them manually...

Thanks in advance

Solved thanks to Forensit support: the printers were there, but not visible because of a permission problem.

User Profile Wizard migrates all the printer settings unchanged. However, if the new user account does not have permissions to access the printers, they will not be visible after the migration. Additionally, if you had to supply credentials (a username and password) to access the printer server, Windows would have encrypted those credentials and they would not have been migrated, so the new user account would not be able to use them to connect.

This was because we only migrated a test workstation, and not the print server, therefore our user on newDomain dit not have the permissions on the print server that was still on oldDomain.
We migrated a test print server, and the printers all reappeared on the migrated user profile.

Thanks
