Hello all,

I recently discovered the ForensiT user profile tool to assist with a domain migration. I decided to test it out today without much thought and ended up mapping my domain account onto another profile on my computer. I am now unable to access my old local profile.

I noticed my old local profile appears when I click "show unassigned profiles" on the tool but I am receiving the following when I attempt to reassign the profile path:

"""
Target device: GG-IT-TECH2
OS build 10.0.19044.1466. Version 2009.
Domain: PARKS
Finding Domain Controller for domain PARKS... Done.
Using Domain Controller: \\GG-CFDC2.ad.cedarfair.com
Binding to Active Directory... Done.
Getting FQDN for user "jeremiah.oliva"... Done.
Getting Domain SID... Done.
SID is S-1-5-21-861567501-616249376-725345543-203138
Checking for roaming profile... Done.
No roaming profile path set.
Setting Registry ACLs... Fails.
Unable to load Profile. Error 5.
Could not load 'C:\Users\jeremiah.oliva\ntuser.dat'.
Migration Fails.
"""

Any insight into a possible fix would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

This is a very unusual error when migrating a profile. (The process is running as SYSTEM).

I would reboot the machine. Sign-in as a different (Admin) user account, and then attempt to migrate the original profile again.
